Things to do in Shirdi

1. Samadhi Mandir - Samadhi Mandir is where Baba's Samadhi is interred. Baba had predicted his Samadhi way before and had appeared in Bapusahed Booty ( one of his devotees) to construct a temple which later became Samadhi Mandir. A vivid description is given in Chapter 39 of Sai Satcharitra. Just behind the samadhi is Baba's Statue ,made of italian marble. It shows him seated on a throne with his right leg thrown on the left in the familiar posture which thousands of devotees all over the country know and worship . The statue was made by late Balaji Vasant alias babusaheb Talim who made it out of a sheer sense of gratitude. The idol statue was installed on October 7, 1954 by Shri Swami Saisharanand, an ardent devotee from Ahmedabad.

2. Dwarkamai - Sai Baba used to refer this masjid as Dwarkamai. Drawkamai also has the sacred Dhuni - the lamp that BABA lit more than 100 years ago.

3. Chavadi - Baba used to sleep here every alternate night. It is located next to Dwarkamai. Every Thursday, Baba's padukas ( footprints) are taken from Dwarkamai to Chavdi. This alternate sleeping in both these buildings went on till Baba's Mahasamadhi.  The entire procession details is described vividly in Chapter 37 of SaiSatCharitra

4. Lendi Baug - Lendi Baug ( baug means garden) is the place where Sai Baba used to go everyday in the morning and afternoon for watering the plants. The huge Neem tree inside the garden premises provided shade and rest to Sai Baba during his lifetime. At the entrance of the Baug are the Samadhi's of ardent Sai devotees Tatya Kote Patil, Bhau Maharaj Kumbhar, Nanavalli and Abdul Baba. Lendi Baug also has a Datta Mandir and behind the Datta Mandir is the samadhi of Sai Baba's horse called ShyamSundar.

5. Khandoba Temple - Sai Baba was given the name 'Sai' in this temple. When Sai Baba came to Shirdi in a marriage procession, Mhalsapati welcomed the fakir and said 'Ya Sai'. This temple is located on the outskirts of the village on the Ahmednagar-Kopergaon highway.
